Everyday Partner Drills for Outfielders

It's going, going, gone….not quite. Stopped by an outfielder, climbing the wall to make it happen!

Every one has those love/hate moments with outfielders. So many games are won and lost by that fielder running at top speed to catch a pop fly, and the blasting the ball back to second base to make a double play.

Daily practice is vital. Creating a practice/drill schedule to hone your outfielding skills helps you be effective. Here are a few ways to get yourself game ready:

  • Toss 5 fly balls each- straight, left, rt, forward, backward.  Catch get feet ready to throw.
  • 5 Ground balls each- work on fielding inside right foot/crow hop
  • Stand close- partner throw flies guy has to run to get it, Forward, Sides, Back
  • 4 Ball quickness drill.
